Saving a chat with media starts with knowing what was actually exported

WhatsApp can place the text transcript and media files in the same export, but attachment references, filenames and supported formats still need careful matching.

Common reasons media looks incomplete

An export may omit media by choice, exceed sharing limits, contain renamed files or reference formats a browser cannot display. A trustworthy archive should distinguish these cases where possible.

Export created without the include-media option
Files missing after transfer or ZIP extraction
Attachment names that no longer match the transcript
Voice, sticker or document formats needing separate handling

Planned diagnostics before layout
